Many people comment that there is a 'characteristic' tone that the violins I make have. I would agree. It makes sence that after many decades of experience and making hundreds of instruments one develops workmanship habits and a particular style of work. These could result in a 'characteristic' tone. This is especially true since I trained in Cremona Italy with two of the best modern Italian masters ( Morassi and Bissolotti). May they rest in peace, I miss them both.
